Talula's Review of Deviant Moon Tarot

Patrick Valenza's Deviant Moon tarot is in my top three favorite tarot decks. (Santa is bringing me the new borderless version.) Here is a YouTube video from "Talula" reviewing the Deviant Moon deck:

Daily Oracle Sites: Wisdom of Avalon

There are lots of sites that offer free, daily oracle or tarot card readings. Here's one: Colette Baron-Reid Daily Oracle cards. These oracle cards are new to me; I chose the Wisdom of Avalon deck, beautiful! My card was OWL, which is synchronistic, given my UFO interest and experiences. (The owl is an image that repeats throughout UFO, enitity and abduction encounters; from synchronistic moments of seeing owls frequently in nature as well as popular culture, owls appearing just before or during contact, on the astral realm, etc.)

My question had to do with my reading/intuitive counseling career path. This is what OWL has to say:

The Owl

deception, wisdom
The Owl lends you eyes that you need in order to see in the dark around you. The Owl can cut through the shadows to illuminate the real truth. Someone may be trying to camouflage his or her real intentions. Deceit, lies, and unclear intentions are exposed with Owl energy. The Owl also reminds you to be honest with yourself and snap out of any lies or denial inside you. Lying to yourself is the way that you’ll remain lost in a prison of your own making. The Owl appears to ask you to seek the truth in the darkest places within yourself. This will set you free and restore you to wholeness. All is well with the Owl to guide you. Deep wisdom into human nature is gained through the ability to recognize untruths. This is an important marker on your path.

Misplaced Ace of Cups

I don't know what it means, but I have a vague sinking feeling it means something. I have misplaced (I refuse to say lost) a card from one of my tarot decks. I discovered the Ace of Cups is gone from my Maria Kuara Black Cats tarot deck. (Lo Scarabeo.)  For now, I'm using the promo card as a substitute, with Ace of Cups written in black Sharpie. But it's not the same.

Searcing for an image on-line to post of the Ace of Cups from this deck -- can't find one!

Looking at the meaning of the Ace of Cups: intuition, abidance, beginnings, trust and listening to your gut, your intuition, the whole of the self involved on a psychic, creative, spiritual plane.

Do I read the missing card as a reversal; it's lost, er, misplaced, is this a message to get it together, the opposite message of the affirming message of trust in one's intuition? Am I not paying enough attention? Well obviously I am not or else I wouldn't have misplaced the card!

"25 Tips To Be A Happy Tarot Reader" From The Tarot Lady

Helpful advice. 25 Tips To Be A Happy Tarot Reader | The Tarot Lady I like her tip #5 in particular, which fits in with what I've been experiencing lately. Since I do readings mostly on-iine, I have clients who don't read all the instructions or follow them. Makes for a lot of time consuming and draining back and forth. Then there are the clients who email me a question, get their reading, don't like the results and want to discuss it further or argue it (and proving the nature of the reading in their doing so!) but Tarot Lady reminds us we don't have to deal with clients that behave this way:

5. Get rid of clients who drain you. Not every client is a good fit for you. Recognize when the energy is poor and let them go. In some cases, you may want to refer them to a reader who may be better suited for their needs/temperament.

After having my Etsy shop for less than three weeks, I just sold my first reading! Thank you.

"Essential Birthday Card"

This is from Raven's Tarot Site, a beautifully created site with a lot of good things to explore. One is your 'essential card' -- based on your birth date, the card that appears is your "essential birthday card." I drew The Hermit, which I found to be quite accurate. I liked the three aspects Raven has created for each card: "Drive, Light, and Shadow."  I think that's a good exercise to do for each Major Arcana card!

The deck Raven used on the site is this one, from The Book of Thoth tarot. I had, or have, this deck -but I haven't seen it for years. I have no idea where it is! Looking at this I realize how beautiful the art is; maybe I can find the deck :)
